Shri Pradhan noted that the National Education Policy 2020, envisioned under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, places equal importance on education and skilling, paving the way for integration of schooling and skilling, horizontal and vertical mobility through National Credit Framework, and redefining India’s skills ecosystem.

The workshop featured three thematic discussions. The first session focused on the integration of skills in the school education curriculum, advancing the understanding of how progression pathways in education can be created for vocational education learners. The second session focused on an agile and resilient TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) ecosystem for creating a future-ready workforce, with industry informing and integrating with the TVET ecosystem to drive superior workforce outcomes for TVET graduates. The third session focused on lifelong learning and skill recognition in the context of the future of work.

Overall, the workshop provided a platform for India and Singapore to work together to achieve mutual priorities and prepare a future-ready workforce.
