The University of San Diego (USD) has entered into an exciting partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) to offer new and innovative educational programs. The collaboration will provide dual Master’s degrees, as well as dual degrees at both the BTech and Master’s levels. Additionally, executive education programs will also be available through this partnership.

This MoU is part of USD’s plan to grow its presence in India and broaden its educational offerings. By combining the strengths of Indian and U.S. educational systems, the collaboration aims to give students access to the best of both worlds.

A major part of the plan includes the establishment of a new campus in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in Gandhinagar. The campus will offer hybrid learning, allowing students to benefit from a mix of traditional and digital education. This model is designed to enhance learning opportunities and cater to the evolving needs of modern education.

Meetings to discuss the GIFT City campus are set to continue in May, with the University working closely with stakeholders to refine its plans and move the project forward.

Dr. Chell A. Roberts, Dean of USD’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering, shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating that the University is committed to working collaboratively with its partners to bring these plans to fruition.

This partnership is an important step in strengthening academic ties between the U.S. and India. It offers exciting opportunities for students, providing them with access to world-class education that will prepare them for the global workforce. With a focus on innovation, this collaboration is poised to make a significant impact on the future of education and research.
