AIEEA stands for All India Entrance Examination for Architecture. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra) for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) programs at NIT Kurukshetra and other participating institutes. The AIEEA exam is a competitive exam, and the cut-off marks vary from year to year. However, in general, a good score in the AIEEA exam will give you a good chance of getting admission to a top B.Arch. program.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Age: The candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 2002 (open/EWS/OBC-NCL) or October 1, 1999 (SC, ST, or PwD).
  • Qualifying Examination: The candidate must have passed the Class XII or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Number of Attempts: A candidate can appear for AIEEA for a maximum of three times, and only in consecutive years.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

  • Visit the ICAR 2023 official website – icar.nta.in.
  • Complete ICAR AIEEA registration 2023 using details name, mobile number and email address.
  • Fill detailed ICAR AIEEA 2023 registration form with personal and educational details.
  • Uploading scanned images of photographs and signatures.
  • Pay the application fees
  • Download NTA Main 2023 confirmation page for future reference.

Documents required

  • Proof of Date of Birth: A copy of your birth certificate or any other document that shows your date of birth.
  • Passport-size photograph: A recent passport-size photograph of yourself.
  • Signature: A scanned copy of your signature.
  • Qualifying Examination Marks: A copy of your marksheet for the qualifying examination.
  • Category Certificate: If you belong to a reserved category, you will need to submit a copy of your caste certificate.

Application fees: The application fee for AIEEA is INR 1500 for general category candidates and INR 750 for reserved category candidates.

Mode of Examination: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Languages: English and Hindi

Reservation:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 15% reservation
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5% reservation
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL): 27% reservation
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10% reservation
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 5% reservation

Pattern Of The Paper

  • Part A: Multiple-choice questions on general knowledge, aptitude, and reasoning.
  • Total number of questions: 80
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
  • Part B: Drawing-based questions that assess the candidate’s creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Total number of questions: 2
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • There is no negative marking for Part B of the exam.

MARKING SCHEME

  • Part A: Multiple-choice questions on general knowledge, aptitude, and reasoning.

  • Aptitude: Logical reasoning, problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and other aptitude-related topics.
  • Reasoning: Data interpretation, logical deduction, and other reasoning-related topics.

Part B

  • Creativity: Visual thinking, ideation, and other creativity-related topics.
  • Problem-solving: Problem-solving skills, design thinking, and other problem-solving-related topics.
