The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially declared the Madhyamik (Class 10) Result 2026, bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of students across the state.

This year, the board recorded an overall pass percentage of 86.83%, showing a slight improvement compared to last year’s results.

Students can now access their scorecards online through the official result portals using their roll number and date of birth.


Over 8 Lakh Students Clear the Examination

According to official data released by WBBSE:

  • Around 9.59 lakh students appeared for the examination
  • More than 8.14 lakh students successfully passed the exam

The Madhyamik examinations were conducted between February 2 and February 12, 2026, across thousands of centres in West Bengal.


Abhirup Bhadra Emerges as State Topper

This year’s Madhyamik merit list witnessed intense competition, with Abhirup (Abhiroop) Bhadra securing the top rank in the state.

Reports indicate that the topper scored nearly 99.7% marks, reflecting exceptional academic performance.

A total of 131 students secured positions in the top 10 merit list, showcasing strong competition among candidates.


Kalimpong Emerges as Best Performing District

Among all districts, Kalimpong recorded the highest pass percentage, with more than 95% students clearing the examination.

Kolkata also performed strongly, achieving a pass percentage of over 92% this year.

The district-wise data highlights improved academic performance across several regions of the state.


How to Check WB Madhyamik Result 2026

Students can follow these steps to access their results online:

  1. Visit the official website – wbresults.nic.in or wbbse.wb.gov.in
  2. Click on the “WB Madhyamik Result 2026” link
  3. Enter roll number and date of birth
  4. Download and save the marksheet for future use

Results are also available through:

  • DigiLocker
  • SMS services
  • Alternative result portals during heavy traffic

Passing Criteria and Grading System

To pass the Madhyamik examination, students must secure:

  • Minimum 33% marks in each subject
  • Required aggregate marks overall

The grading structure includes:

  • AA (90–100)
  • A+ (80–89)
  • A (60–79)
  • B+ (45–59)
  • B (35–44)

Re-evaluation and Supplementary Options Available

Students dissatisfied with their scores can apply for:

  • Re-evaluation or scrutiny of answer sheets
  • Supplementary examinations (where applicable)
