Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur have announced a strategic partnership to create an advanced research center focused on innovation in digital health, robotics, and intelligent systems. This new facility will be housed within the IIT Kharagpur Research Park in New Town, Kolkata.
The center will feature three specialized laboratories dedicated to cutting-edge research in areas such as sensing and communication, edge computing, analytics, robotics, and visual computing. Over 150 TCS scientists will collaborate with IIT Kharagpur faculty and students to explore advanced technologies like AI, embedded systems, and robotics.
The collaboration aims to address critical challenges in healthcare and automation by combining IIT Kharagpur’s academic research capabilities with TCS’s industrial expertise. Additionally, the center will include a customer experience area to showcase innovative research and solutions to clients across industries.
This initiative marks a continuation of TCS’s strategy to integrate industry and academic efforts for impactful innovation, building on its earlier partnerships with IIT Madras and IIT Bombay in similar domains.
