Online Quiz Competition and Self Defense Camp Held for Students and Staff Members
Navyug School Lodhi Road in New Delhi organized a range of activities in the second half of April 2023 under the able guidance of its principal, Dr. Dinesh Kumar. The activities were convened by Jagriti House, one of the school’s four houses. As part of the activities, the Department of Computer Science organized an online quiz competition to mark the 132nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The competition was open to all students, and the top three performers were awarded Rs. 500 cash prizes along with certificates of appreciation.
In addition to the quiz competition, Jagriti House also organized a self-defense camp for female students and staff members of the school. The camp was conducted by the team of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children based in Nanak Pura, Moti Bagh in New Delhi. The camp spanned ten days from May 1 to May 10 and was convened by house masters Mr. Naresh Kumar and Ms. Manju.
The self-defense camp focused on teaching important skills such as situational awareness, basic strikes, and grappling techniques. The aim of the camp was to empower female students and staff members with the knowledge and skills they need to defend themselves in potentially dangerous situations.
