NIFT which also stands for National Institute of Fashion and Technology conducts a national level entrance exam for the admission of candidate with utmost enthusiasm in fashion and related fields. The exam is conducted on both UG and PG level with a ton of courses every year. Upon clearing the entrance exam, a candidate can get admission for pursuing various degrees like, B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, and MFM programs. The university conducts the exam at two levels, CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1.Candidates should have qualified Class 12th exam from a recognized State or Central Education Board.
2.Those with a diploma/degree certificate from any institute recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education can also apply for NIFT 2024
3.The maximum age limit defined for NIFT 2024 is 24 years as of August 01, 2024, for General Category.
4.Age relaxation of 5 years will be given to SC/ST/PHP applicants.

MARKING SCHEME
- NIFT B.Des entrance exam pattern includes a total of 100 multiple choice questions for 100 marks.
- It is an offline mode of exam conducted for 120 minutes.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
SYLLABUS
The syllabus of the NIFT entrance exam has been divided into two sections, i.e., CAT and GAT.
GAT syllabus for M.Des/B.Des courses will contain topics such as Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability.
CAT test will judge the ability, power of observation in concept development and design ability of the candidate.
It also tests the creative and innovative use of colour and illustration skills.
