The National Testing Agency has moved its headquarters from Okhla to Minto Road in New Delhi as it prepares to tighten security and overhaul the systems behind NEET, JEE Main, CUET and other national-level examinations.
New Delhi — For millions of students who encounter the National Testing Agency (NTA) through NEET, JEE Main, CUET or UGC-NET, the agency now has a new official address. The NTA headquarters has shifted from Okhla to Minto Road in New Delhi, with the agency asking candidates, educational institutions, service providers and other stakeholders to update their records and use the new premises for future correspondence.
The move, however, is more significant than a change of stationery or postal address. It comes as the testing agency undertakes a broader NTA exam security overhaul, following months of scrutiny over the conduct and security of national-level entrance examinations.
The new office is located on the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building, Minto Road, New Delhi – 110002.

The headquarters relocation does not mean that NEET, JEE Main or CUET examinations have shifted locations. It is an administrative move involving the agency’s office.
The NTA has asked candidates, students, parents, educational institutions, service providers and other stakeholders to use the new address for future official communication.

Why NTA Shifted to Minto Road
The timing of the relocation is significant.
The Education Ministry has been pushing the NTA towards a tighter examination-security framework, including stronger protection for sensitive examination material and an audit of existing examination processes. The Minto Road shift was part of that wider plan.
The agency had earlier been operating from its Okhla Industrial Estate premises in South Delhi. The new location is expected to provide a more secure operational environment for handling sensitive examination-related work.
The move follows a review led by Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi in August, when the NTA was directed to strengthen security and infrastructure around its operations.
NTA Exam Security 2026: Four-Tier Checks and New Officials
The headquarters shift is only one piece of the larger reform programme.
The NTA has announced a four-tier question-paper checking system designed to strengthen scrutiny before examination papers reach candidates. The agency has also removed around 600 experts who had previously been involved in question-paper setting and is bringing in a new pool of specialists.
The agency also planned to induct 20 to 25 officials as part of the organisational overhaul.
For students, these changes matter because the credibility of an entrance examination rests on something that is invisible on the exam day: the security chain protecting the question paper before the test begins.
CISF Security at New NTA Headquarters
Security around the new headquarters is also being strengthened.
The government has directed that Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) teams reinforce security at the new premises. The move is intended to protect sensitive operations and infrastructure associated with the agency’s examination work.
The NTA had also floated a ₹7.5-crore tender for round-the-clock security services covering its headquarters, regional offices, storage facilities and sensitive examination material. The proposed security arrangements extend beyond physical premises to records, server rooms and confidential examination infrastructure.
That makes the Minto Road relocation part of a much larger attempt to rebuild confidence in the examination system.
NEET, JEE Main, CUET: What the Address Change Means
For students preparing for NEET 2027, JEE Main 2027, CUET 2027 and other NTA examinations, the most important point is simple: the headquarters relocation does not itself alter examination dates, application procedures or examination centres.
The NTA continues to conduct major national examinations including:
- NEET-UG for medical admissions
- JEE Main for engineering admissions
- CUET-UG for undergraduate university admissions
- UGC-NET for eligibility for teaching and research-related opportunities
- CSIR-NET and other examinations under its mandate
Students should continue to rely on the respective official examination portals for application notices, city slips, admit cards, answer keys and results.
Why the NTA Overhaul Matters to Students
For an aspirant, the address of an examination agency may seem like a minor administrative detail. The bigger issue is what the relocation represents.
NTA examinations operate at enormous scale. A question paper must move through a tightly controlled chain involving preparation, printing, storage, transportation, technology and examination centres. A weakness at any point can undermine an entire examination.
That is why the current reforms go beyond the office move. The agency is simultaneously working on question-paper scrutiny, personnel restructuring, physical security and examination-process audits.
The real test of the overhaul will not be the new building. It will be whether students can enter an examination hall confident that the paper in front of them has travelled through a secure and credible system.
