The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially commenced the online application process for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026 under the Agnipath Scheme, inviting eligible unmarried male and female candidates from across India to apply for one of the country’s most sought-after defence recruitment programmes.

Who Can Apply?

The recruitment is open to unmarried male and female candidates who meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Indian Air Force.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed one of the following:

For Science Subjects

  • Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English, securing at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English, or
  • A three-year Diploma in Engineering in relevant disciplines with the prescribed marks, or
  • A two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics as specified in the notification.

For Other Than Science Subjects

  • Intermediate/10+2 in any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English, or
  • A two-year vocational course with the required minimum marks.

Age Limit

Eligible candidates should be born between July 2, 2006, and January 2, 2010 (both dates inclusive), as specified in the official recruitment notification.

Selection Process

The Agniveervayu recruitment process consists of multiple stages designed to assess academic knowledge, physical fitness, and medical suitability.

Stage 1: Online Examination

The computer-based examination will assess candidates in subjects relevant to their chosen category.

Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates qualifying the written examination will undergo physical fitness assessments, which include running and other prescribed fitness standards.

Stage 3: Adaptability Tests

Applicants will also appear for adaptability assessments to evaluate their suitability for military service and different operational environments.

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Candidates who clear the previous stages will undergo a comprehensive medical examination conducted according to Indian Air Force standards.

Stage 5: Document Verification

Original educational certificates and other required documents will be verified before final selection.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹550 plus applicable GST while submitting the online application.

The fee can be paid through the online payment modes available during the application process.

Selected Agniveervayu personnel will receive a monthly package as prescribed under the Agnipath Scheme.
